the mountain asks
another snowboard trip. we went to flims. this time finally, on the 3rd day, my mind accepted that i am also allowed to have fun, do some s turns singing instead of counting anxcious c turns and praying to stay alive. next year, i don't think i will be down for going to the mountans less than a week, it takes DAYS for me to come back to my confidence. dogukan joined us on this trip, it's definitely more fun with friends. couple years ago, i was jealous of friend groups doing this together, now i am happy we can also do that. on that note, although bois are extremely kind, i honestly miss girl friends doing this together. i have joined to women only snowboard camp before, it was one of the best, but it's a pity that we didn't stay connected. anyways the mountain was relieveing, my mind was forced to get the fresh air without a full day screen time.
apart from the slopes, i took a walk in town, taking pictures here and there. there was a very cute house next to our airbnb, took the picture of it. then stumbled into a weird building in the old town hosting an exhibition about "hiking". there were treadmills inside, you had to hike to watch the videos :) and on the last floor, the exhibition had a space where tiny models of houses were showcasing the architect to whom that exact building of the museum was dedicated to? appearantly the guy was famous. one of the models was of the exact house i had photographed an hour ago. double checked with the woman working there if it's the work from this guy. and it was indeed from him (rudolf olgiati). also one visitor note was a highlight: "the mountain doesn't ask, the mountain understands." well the mountain asked me this season.
dogukan made us watch the movie topkapi. the movie is from 1964 and doesn't disappoint on the quality at all. beautiful istanbul sceneries, amazing colors.
with the winter season is done and weather getting better, i am drooling to get into my bike again, but need to get some fix before.
after writing my last post on writes, this was a great read related: https://phinze.com/writing/level-of-detail
and doom scrolling suggestion: these days the most aestetic scrolls were from @worldspecialmoments on tiktok, so beautiful.
also i learned that i need to clean up the photos i upload here. i didn't know that the encoding carries location info in it. that said, you can check the new photos proving that i still suck at the heart game. ( • ᴗ - ) ✧
