In Praise of Delay

Hélène L'Heuillet

couldn't find the english title of this book weirdly it's actually called "gecikmeye ovgu" in its turkish title, by helene l'heuillet. melike gave me this book after i was talking about me being obsesssed with how time is defined physically and my recent read on the order of time. the books language was extremely heavy on turkish, weird translation. but i liked that it was literally no fluff just to the point short read. the author was critizing that how we are all the time rushing, and it's just simply the feature of the capitalism to make us stick to the hassle culture, and our herd mentality that we all do the same things because it makes the system run easier, but we indeed are humans and we also have rights to have our own timeline in our life. delay is not delay it's just your right to stay true to the nature. that we cannot be milked all the time.

* modern culture is the one pushing us to be early to everything to have the advantage. it's funny that we have even travel guides like, x city in y hours etc. but then what's the point like. what's the rush to check mark such experience in life? squezing more experience into limited hours?

* you only have one life is the idea of this capitalism and that's what makes us rush all the time and enslaves us to rushing rather than experiencing deeply.

* being late is an anarschistic move to the system because system makes us think that if we are late, it's pathologic. but what happens in reality any deep thought or experience in life requires delays on this systematic tempo. therefore it's not a delay it's just us being humans.
