The Courage to Be Disliked
self improvement book yes. but make it japanese. this one, i listened as audiobook, i wanted something easy on the bike. couple of ideas to note, the most prominent ones are dancing around and contributing to something bigger.
* people can change any moment. it's bs to live by the traumas because past can't determine the present, if you can solely focus on the now's goals and purposes. so it's irrelevant.
* life is not a competition, the goal is to move forward without the comparison with others because there is no finish line, and it's a just a different route with diffrent params.
* focus only on your tasks, the other's opinions are their tasks. satisfying someone else, recognition or denial from someone else should be discarded on the actions because they are not your tasks, to think or control what they are going to think. it's their tasks that you have no control. so discard and act anyways with your goals without thinking of these.
* the ultimate goal is community. true belonging comes from contributing to something larger than oneself.
* life is a sequences of moments and it should feel like dancing, not planning and speculating, but rather "dancing" on the moment with focusing on one's own tasks without thinking of other's tasks, with a goal and purpose in mind, ultimately for the community. but it should feel like dancing, with full joy.
