heatwave
berlin is taking revenge for the black ice winter this weekend with 40 degrees. the options for the weekend plans currently are bunkers and for the lakes either need to check for caterpillar spread or worm maps. it's so scary that i worked from home to meal prep, just to free the weekend and not run the oven this time around.
back to my own wavelength this week. more office days, finding time to read again. mornings are a bit of a mess with the timeline since i started to work with est timezone people during these months. but can't complain, gives me some headroom for long summer nights.
magical encounters continued. i was talking about me finding nesli on the street on the other now page i guess, here. this week, she was asking me if i would join the art book fair missread.com that they are going with another friend, annie. we later went to a movie in the open air. turns out, annie is also painting, in fact she also goes to burnt sienna and knows one of my classmate already, plus she is into cycling and gym?! eventually the conversation between the 3 of us turned into whether we should go to the gym together to spot each other on the bench press and do like lake hopping with bikes?! felt like full girlhood maxing! we later watched amrum together in the open air. and the movie was also great. it was a delightful friday all in all, nesli magic simply keeps giving.
btw look at the find from missread. unclench jaw. only the reminders i need the most.
reading susan sontag on women, it feels like nothing new so far, maybe it's one of the source books, or maybe it's that i am too acquinted with the arguments but still in progress. and started lena dunham's famesick. makes me go watch girls once again. her last work (too much) doesn't give much but actually she nailed the handsome young man choice once again :chef-kiss:
the other day, andres sent me this video as we watched ekleido in london, this was another work of theirs. it's unnecessarily good. watch it. pls. do it. and the story goes like, >..tracing how female friendship and chosen family can help reshape the stories that once defined us.. tear drop.
onto the weekend now. 2 things in my survival kit: on my last trip to stockholm, i got this tea blend, black tea with tropical fruits. makes an absolutely gorgeous ice tea. this and my tiny bike trainer fan - the best ever in town :sunglasses: - this one (sharing as an idea, because every other fan is sold out in the universe), will help me survive i hope.
